We’ve been away for a while, but that was mainly due to a few of us having kids, and others traveling extensively. Hopefully we’ll get right back on track though. Here is the last installment of the Behind the Scenes of Leap of Faith 3D. As we said before, it was an amazing journey making the film, and hopefully this will help you enjoy the experience through our eyes.

One of our core principals here at HIPURductions is that 50% of our profits go to charity. We took the money we have received from you, and have given 50% of it to help orphans!
The charity we chose was Islamic Relief USA. Islamic Relief is rated at 4-stars on charity Navigator. In a letter to Islamic Relief, Interim President of Charity Navigator Michael Smith commended the accomplishment:

Behind the scenes part two: more people, more scenes, and more fun! It was a long and awesome journey and we figured you would enjoy peaking behind the scenes at how we accomplished the finished product.

We know you’ve been waiting to see it and here it comes! We will be releasing the 2D and 3D versions of the film online for your viewing pleasure on Friday October 22nd inshaAllah. We are always very humbled by the amount of work it takes to produce even the shortest of films (the right way of course) and by how much dedication people show while working on something hopefully worthwhile. HIPURductions was interviewed for The Muslim Link, a newspaper that serves the Washington DC area Muslims. We talked about our upcoming 3D film that will be premiering at the ISNA convention in Chicago in July inshaAllah. Here is the article.

The Muslim Link Paper is published every other week on Fridays and distributed throughout the Washington and Baltimore Metropolitan Areas. TML is based at Dar-us-Salaam in College Park, Maryland, USA.

We have recently been investigating the use of the Canon 7D as a 3D solution for our Leap of Faith short film. The 3D tech on the movie, Rami Santrisi, came up with a white paper in an attempt to layout the possibilities of using the 7D optimally if used as a stereo capture device. We are talking about using two Canon 7D’s attached in some way to enable this kind of capture. Here is the white paper:

As for which route we end up taking, that will depend on further testing. As of right now, Option #3 is the most optimal without any loss of resolution, but complete loss of access to the video feeds from either camera. The DP for the film will be assessing the impacts of using these options and moving forward with what he thinks would work best for the film. As always, we’ll try to keep you updated. Peace.
